Q: How does this therapy actually work?
A: Photon Therapy temporarily increases localized circulation and reduces pain. With a 30 minute treatment researchers have documented increases in localized circulation of 350% and greater (up to 3200%). Increases in circulation are a fundamental basis for the healing that occurs when medical professionals use ultrasound and whirlpools.
Q: What is the difference between red, blue and infrared light?
A: Every LED color has a different wavelength. Just as our cells know how to use different wavelengths from the sun our cells are built to absorb these 3 colors and use them each for different benefits.
Blue light – Contains antimicrobial properties, making it useful for skin care and wound healing.
Red light – Triggers an increase in circulation.
Infrared light – Reaches deeper tissues like muscle, tendons and ligaments.
Q: Why are some diodes visibly bright while others are not lit?
A: The lights that appear not to be lit are in fact functioning but they are not visible to our eyes. These infrared diodes are beyond the visible spectrum of human beings.
Q: How quickly should I expect to see improvement?
A: In some situations, such as osteo-arthritis with pain and limited range of motion, we often see people notice a difference with only a 20 - 30 minute treatment. In most situations we recommend daily usage for a week to ten days and expect changes within that time.
Q: Why is this therapy called photon therapy?
A: Non-substantive particles of light called photons have no mass and no charge but are electromagnetic in nature. It is these photons that interact with cellular tissue, producing what is called photobiomodulation, i.e., healthy changes in the body.
Q: What is the Lumen NICO setting?
A: A programmed pattern including settings # 2, 3, 4, and 5 in five minute cycles. NICO automatically runs for six cycles of five minutes each. This composite setting works well with most musculo-skeletal problems.
Q: What is the best setting for acute pain?
A: Setting 7 is the best setting for pain. Setting 7 combined with NICO works well, too.
Q: How can I view the status of my order?
